A message from our Managing Director:

As we reflect on the 2026 City2Surf, I think it is fair to say that many of our team are finding themselves a little stiff and sore today! However, I am sure they would all agree it was well worth it.

Together, we raised an incredible $87,046 for the Garvan Institute of Medical Research with donations still coming in today. Making Belmadar the second highest fundraising team in this year’s City2Surf.

When we set our goal of $70,000, we thought we were being overly ambitious. To surpass it by more than $17,000 has genuinely blown us away.

It is difficult to know where to begin in thanking everyone, because this was more than a team effort. It was a whole community effort.

When my father, Domenico Marrocco, founded Belmadar, he wanted to build something that he and his family could be proud of. I think it is fair to say he would be extremely proud of what the Belmadar community has achieved.

Our mission is Building a legacy for future generations, and to me, this is exactly what that means. Together, we are building something more important than any physical building. We are helping build a future where fewer families have to experience the loss ours did to blood cancer.

Belmadar has participated in the City2Surf for 11 years, interrupted only by COVID. Throughout that time, the consistent support from our staff, subcontractors, clients, partners, family and friends has never gone unnoticed.

We may be a relatively small company, but the impact of our community has been enormous.

To everyone who donated, participated, shared our story or supported us in any way, thank you. Your generosity and encouragement year after year truly means the world to me, my family and the entire Belmadar team.
