our history

The legacy that fortified Belmadar’s success for over 40 years is one in which Managing Director Alf Marrocco and the team are proud to continue as the underpinning culture of Belmadar today.

Formed in 1964, Belmadar Constructions made a significant contribution to the civil and commercial construction industry in New South Wales and Queensland with a particular focus on public sector infrastructure and building works. Belmadar completed a number of significant building projects, including:

  • The Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre in Ultimo
  • Australian Technology Park - base building and fit-out
  • The New Sydney Showground - Horse and Pony Pavilions
  • Sydney University Eastern Avenue Auditorium and Lecture Theatre Complex
  • The Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Alf Marrocco, the son of Domenico Marrocco - one of the founding directors of Belmadar - is a hands-on owner in the business today. Early in his career Alf was an instrumental part of the Belmadar business and is today proud to embrace the strong principles and values of his father Domenico that lead to 40 years of the company’s success. Alf understands that construction is a tough, hard industry but like his father believes in collaboration, treating people with respect and dealing honestly and fairly to achieve win-win outcomes.
