Belmadar was recently granted accreditation with the NSW Government’s contractor pre-qualification scheme, meaning we are now eligible to tender for construction projects with over 200 government departments and agencies.

Belmadar has been appointed to the builders’ panel at Macquarie University, taking our tally of building panel appointments to four along with Sydney, New South Wales and Western Sydney Universities.
Progress is continuing apace at the Catherine Park Community Centre project in Camden, where Belmadar is head contractor for a new community building for Camden Council.
We are delighted to reveal that Belmadar has been chosen to deliver its first project for the University of Western Sydney on its Parramatta campus. This adds to the already large number of projects we have successfully completed for other Sydney universities, further cementing our strength in this sector.
Over at Club Central we have installed an on-site time-lapse camera, which gives a fantastic birds-eye view of the site and will allow us to capture the entire project progress from excavation to completion in 2021.
We are over the moon to announce we have just been awarded a 2019 MBA Excellence in Construction Award for our Sisters of Charity project. Taking out the refurbishment award in the up to $10 million category, the project entailed extensive alterations to an existing building to create a brand-new Heritage Centre and Archives for the Sisters of Charity in Potts Point.
Following excavation of a rather large, deep basement alongside Club Central in Hurstville we have just commenced the foundational concrete pour on this project. This is a major milestone in the club’s $48m redevelopment and means that construction of three new club levels, additional parking and five-storey hotel can now begin in earnest.

They did it! On Sunday 11 August the Belmadar Bandits City2Surf team completed the world's largest fun run, in the process raising over $17,300 for the Garvan Institute of Medical Research.

The Belmadar Bandits team is once again busy preparing for the 14 kilometres of FUN (!) that is the City2Surf, which this year takes place on Sunday 11 August.
The new Sisters of Charity Heritage Centre and Archives, built by Belmadar and designed by architects Young + Metcalf, has been officially opened by the Archbishop of Sydney Anthony Fisher.
Works are well underway at Hurstville’s Club Central, where Belmadar is head contractor for a major $50 million redevelopment which will see the existing club refurbished and a nine-storey club and hotel built alongside.
We recently kicked off a new project with The University of New South Wales on their main Randwick campus, where we have been contracted to fit-out and refurbish two workshop spaces known as ‘Makerspaces’.

Team Belmadar was out and about recently for a regular safety walk on our Loftus Lane project, which will see the refurbishment of the heritage-listed Gallipoli Memorial Club and Hinchcliff House as part of the larger AMP Quay Quarter development in Circular Quay.

Belmadar’s commitment to innovative design and excellent craftsmanship is reflected in our design and construction of our new workplace, which saw a dark, labyrinthian office transformed into a spacious and light-filled functional workplace with purpose-built joinery, work stations and new skylights.
Saturday 27th October 2018 marked the official opening of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia. After 9 months of refurbishment it was an honour to be invited to celebrate with the CYCA team and their members, those who will enjoy the finished product for years to come! We are so proud of this build ( see the full project here) and the team. They were able to pull it off and have the Cruising Yacht Club opened right on time with out delay. “I can’t thank you and your team enough for the effort that has been put in by George, Nathan and Nick in particular. We are so proud of the construction team on the Emanuel Synagogue development for winning at this years MBA Excellence in Construction Awards within the public building category for projects $7 million to $10 million. This award is not only a testament to our technical excellence but our collaborative approach with all the project stakeholders. it is because of this teams tremendous effort and hard work that we've been recognised for another successful build. Sunday 12th August 2018, 19 strong, fearless Belmadar Bandits took on the exhausting 14km City2Surf run and smashed it. This year as like the last 3 years Belmadar proudly ran in support of the Garvan Insitute of Medical Research. The team was humbled by the generosity of our family, friends and partners this year as we have just crept up over $12,000 in donations. This ongoing annual fundraising which in the last 3 years we've raised over $82,000 continues to help developments in the Garvan’s research study to provide faster, cheaper and more accurate diagnosis of blood cancers. Despite clearly being underdogs, lacking match fitness and practice the Belmadar team consisting of Alf, Nick, Alex and Stuart defeated the Crawford team made up of Paul, Tony, Nando & Michael in the Inaugural Invitation Table Tennis Tournament on Friday night. The intensity on which this match was played shows up on Alex and Paul’s faces. Paul’s excuse after the match was that his team didn’t have enough to drink. We look forward to an even more comprehensive victory by Belmadar next time round.

Designed and constructed in house, Belmadar's head office fit out includes purpose built detailed joinery, light fittings and new work stations to set the tone for a productive space. Understanding the space, design and usability of the project; creative construction solutions helped transform a dark labyrinth into a light filled functional space for the day to day business operations.
The outstanding design of the Darlinghurst Childcare and Community Centre has earned Andrew Burges Architects the World Architecture Festival Award in the Schools Category. 31 October sees the Refurbishment Stage 1 Administration and Amenities building complete. Staff will start to relocate progressively from this week, with the Sailing Office staying in their current location until after the Cabbage Tree Island Race and relocating week commencing 13 November.

The team was humbled by the generous and overwhelming backing of partners, family and friends to raise over $20,000.
Belmadar was excited to welcome a new partner into the family on Thursday 4th may, with the contract singing of our newest project – The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia Club Refurbishment. Belmadar was honoured to welcome Harry Triguboff to the Emanuel Synagogue site on 9 March. Harry Triguboff is not only an Australian billionaire residential property developer, founder and managing director of Meriton but also a legacy member and generous supporter of the Emanuel Synagogue.
A focus on wellness and maintaining a good work life balance is at an all-time high with proven studies also showing that a well-balanced team makes for a productive happy workplace. Belmadar values their team's wellbeing and so has joined the movement and now provides team training for all employees. Every Wednesday afternoon Belmadar encourages the team to put tools and pens down and join a boot camp training session at Bradfield Park. The team enjoy the beautiful surrounds and a high intensity workout in a fun and supportive environment. Clients, partners, family and friends of Belmadar all joined together at Luna Park on Saturday 10th December to enjoy our End of Year Holiday Party. The occasion was a great celebration of another successful year at Belmadar. Guests enjoyed a full day unlimited rides pass followed by a beautiful 3 course meal in the Palais Room.
The Belmadar team all joined together for the 2016 Industry Picnic Day on Monday 5th December. The morning included a 2016 business wrap and 2017 key priorities update from MD - Alf Marrocco, followed by a HSEQ training session led by Brett Drew (Construction Manager) and Cass Pie (HSEQ Manager). Following a good morning of knowledge sharing and upskilling, the team enjoyed lunch and a competitive game of barefoot bowls at The Greens North Sydney. The winning team comprised of Cass Pie, John MacPherson and Luke Civitarese took home the coveted Cup, while the runners up, Alf Marrocco, Jonathon Aloe, George Katralis and Brendan Zeiba where presented with the Horses Hind trophy
Belmadar’s highly valued subcontractors joined the Belmadar team for a gathering at the Oaks Neutral Bay on Friday 25 November. Subbies were invited to join the team for a half day training session hosted by People Safe Australia to learn how to write SWMS for High Risk Construction Work. This session was followed by a Belmadar company update shared by MD – Alf Marrocco and concluded with a fun evening of drinks and nibbles.
Belmadar were the proud sponsors of the Independent Education Union Raceday held at Rosehill Gardens on 28 September 2016. The team and guests particularly enjoyed the 4.45pm Belmadar 1100m Handicap race which wrapped up the day.
Over the past two years, with thanks to the generous support of our partners, family and friends Belmadar has raised in excess of $45 000 to support the work of Dr Tim Mercer at the Garvan Institute into Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Alf and other Belmadar representatives recently met with the research team for a lab tour and an exciting update.
Belmadar was proud to attend the official launch of the East Sydney Early Learning Centre by Clover Moore on the 30 July 2016. Belmadar were the builders who transformed 277 Bourke St into a vibrant learning centre and community space. It includes three levels of childcare facilities for 60 children, operated by Goodstart Early Learning.
Monday 18th July, saw a ground breaking ceremony officially introduce Belmadar to the Emanuel Synagogue community as the proud builder engaged to undertake the West Wing expansion development including new preschool and community gathering area. See the project scope here.
