Belmadar was engaged to fit out and construct several new workshop and teaching areas for UNSW Making, a network of connected maker spaces and workshops across the University's campuses. Following its fit-out by Belmadar, the James N Kirby Makerspace, located on the ground floor of the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, is now one of the largest campus Makerspaces, providing students access to the latest tools, technology and training in machine and fabrication technologies. In the same school, we refurbished a teaching Makerspace featuring a mobile teaching configuration and testing stations, built a new office, and enabled the efficient decant of university staff and academics into the new office space. Over in the Tyree Energy Technologies Building, Belmadar fitted out two additional Makerspaces; 1) the wood and plastic fabrication lab and; 2) the adjoining electronics lab, which offers equipment for soldering, creating and testing prototype circuitry.
